Tiny Tattoo Aftercare Instructions

Your new tattoo is a small piece of art, and proper aftercare ensures it heals beautifully and lasts. Please follow these professional care steps to support healthy healing and preserve your design.

Days 1–3: With Sanibandage

Your tattoo has been covered with a Sanibandage- a sterile, breathable film designed to protect your skin and ink during the initial healing phase. Keep the bandage on for 3 full days (72 hours).  It’s normal to see some ink, plasma, or fluid beneath the film during this time. Avoid swimming, soaking, or long, steamy showers. If the bandage begins to peel or leak before the 3-day mark, carefully remove it and continue to the next step.

Removing the Bandage

Remove your Sanibandage gently in the shower under warm running water. Let the water help loosen the adhesive. Peel the film back slowly and close to the skin rather than pulling it outward. Take your time to avoid irritation or lifting new skin.

Once removed, wash your hands thoroughly and cleanse the tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap such as Dial or Dove Sensitive. Pat dry gently with a clean paper towel. Apply a very thin layer of unscented healing ointment such as A&D, Aquaphor, Hustle Butter, or a tattoo specific balm.

Days 3–14: Ongoing Care

Continue to wash your tattoo once or twice daily and keep it lightly moisturized. Some light peeling or flaking is expected-avoid picking or scratching. Refrain from swimming, soaking, or heavy sweating. Avoid direct sunlight and tight clothing that may cause friction.  After healing, protect your tattoo with SPF 30 or higher whenever it is exposed to the sun to maintain color and detail.

Healing Timeline

Surface healing generally occurs within 7 to 14 days, though deeper skin layers continue to heal over the following weeks. Your tattoo may appear slightly dull during this phase- it will brighten as your skin fully regenerates.
